One Response to ITIL

  1. Bob Anderson says:

Rajesh, IITL V2 has 2 major functional components and specific processes within these components. SERVICE SUPPORT PROCESS AND SERVICE DELIVERY PROCESS – Within Service Support: Service Desk, Incident Management, Problem Management etc. Within Service Delivery Process: SLA Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management etc.

ITIL V3 is a “Lifecycle” approach. Starting with Service Strategy, then Service Design, Service Transition, Service Operations, Continual Process Improvment. The same basic processes that you find within ITIL V2 you will find within ITIL V3, but V3 expresses these processes in terms of an “Implementation or Service Change” live cycle, which I find makes much more sense. Hope this helps.   Bob
